Well we are well into tax season. We wanted to let everyone know that AARP Tax-Aide will be at the library on Friday’s from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm to assist filling out taxes. It is first come, first serve.

OverDrive along with Barnes and Noble recently released the OverDrive Media Console App for the NOOK HD, NOOK HD+, NOOK Tablet and NOOK Color. To download go to the Nook App Store to get it for your Nook. The Nook App will allow users to download eBooks and Audio wirelessly to their device.

Did you know that Memorial Day was original called Decoration Day? It is a day of rememberance for those who have died in service. It was proclaimed on May 5, 1868 by General John Logan to be celebrated on May 30. In 1971, US Congress passed a law designating the last Monday in May to be the official day of observance.

It’s National Library Week and what better way to celebrate that share with you four of my favorite library websites. There are so many great library websites out there that it is tough to choose. I picked these because they are the ones I visit the most often.
1) Fayette County Public Library - Yes, I have to include ours as one of my favorites. I may just be patting myself on the back, but I think we along with Programming and Micros designed a wonderful site.
2)Allen County Public Library – ACPL has one of the top Genealogy Research centers in the country. One of the things I love about the website is access to digital resources on the genealogy page.
3)Mid-Continent Library (Kansas City, Missouri) – Keeps wonderful databases on book series and books made into movies.
4)The Library of Congress – The nations largest library has a wonderful collection of digital items online. The library’s physical collection is so large that it is house in multiple buildings.
